AQUATO's own SSB® process (sequential stabilised activated sludge process): single-stage activated sludge with integrated sludge stabilisation. High, stable performance even with peaks or low load, with minimal sludge removal. Also available as an SBR process on request.
No fixed size grid: every ORKA is sized to your project on a modular construction principle, from 50 to 3,000 PE. The technology adapts to the tank, round or rectangular, and can be extended in later construction phases.
Oxygen, sludge values and power consumption arrive in real time, and fault patterns become visible early. The operator and the service partner see the same data.

How it works
PROCloud
PROCloud continuously records oxygen, sludge values, temperature and power consumption, for each module section separately. Deviations from the norm trigger an automatic alert to the operator and the service partner, and maintenance records are documented and can be exported as PDF as evidence for the authorities.
For property developers and municipalities this is a key argument with the authorities: the plant keeps a complete record of itself, and many faults are dealt with before they become visible. More about PROCloud.
What is included
Four functional units, sized per project. We include the tank in the quote as an estimate; the final price depends on construction costs in your country. For the ORKA we recommend concrete, built on site by a local construction company following AQUATO's drawings: for plants of this size it is the most robust and usually the most economical solution. A delivered plastic tank is also possible. In both cases, the drawings, the technology and the coordination with the construction company go through us. Because it is built on site, the concrete option needs some planning time.
Before the biological stage, it holds back coarse solids and protects the technology downstream.

Moves the water between stages with compressed air, with no electrical components in the water.

Training and commissioning
AQUATO does more than supply the technology. If you wish, AQUATO also supports the installation and commissioning, and passes on the knowledge your team needs to run the plant.
A technician from the hotel, the company or the future operator travels to Germany: welcome in Berlin, first-class train to Herford and about three days of training at the AQUATO factory. We interpret everything into Spanish or English. The ORKA quote includes flights, hotel, meals and training.
See the tripAlternatively, one or two AQUATO technicians travel to South America. They install the ORKA together with the local team, commission it and train your staff directly at the plant. These costs are not included in the purchase price: we calculate them according to the size of the plant and your technical needs and present them in a separate quote.

Technical data
The ORKA is sized to measure for each project on a modular construction principle; there is no fixed size grid. The following values are sizing references (150 litres per population equivalent per day); we review the final sizing with you in the project enquiry. The SSB® process, the same one that works in the ORKA, achieved removal rates of COD 95%, BOD5 99%, TSS 96%, ammonium 98% and nitrogen 77% in the EN 12566-3 test of the STABI-KOM. The ORKA has no test values of its own, because that test only covers up to 50 PE. It can be supplemented with additional stages for nitrogen, phosphorus or hygienisation if required. On request, the ORKA is also available with the SBR process.
Plant layout
Several SSB reactors work in parallel, preceded by an inlet pumping station with a screen, plus a sludge store. The plant is sized per project; the diagram shows the typical layout.
Purchase options
The technology comes from Germany. For the tank there are two routes, which we recommend depending on location and budget.
Option A
AQUATO supplies the technology: solids separation, aeration, airlift pumps and the plant control system with compressors. A construction company in your country builds the concrete tanks to AQUATO plans, and we include an estimate of the construction costs in our quote.

We obtain quotes for the actual tank costs in your country. Sea freight, on-site assembly and permits are not included. Ask us for a specific offer for your case.

For larger resorts and hotel complexes from 50 people without a sewer connection, the ORKA is the standard solution. Smaller lodges and cabins are served by the PUMP and the STABI-KOM. Its made-to-measure design fits projects built in phases.
Rural municipalities without a sewer network get a decentralised plant with German technology and a service contract with the ORKA. Eligible for funding depending on the region.
For housing developments and larger subdivisions, the ORKA handles several house connections at once. Extending it in later phases does not affect what has already been built.
