Ektennsa GmbH is based in Berlin, is an authorised AQUATO distributor, one of several, contractually bound since 2012, and has operated a pilot plant in Chile since 2015. You buy directly from us in Berlin, and in South America we are building a network of local partners and distributors.
Our story
Ektennsa GmbH is based on Blumenthalstraße in Berlin, with a German commercial register entry and a German supply chain. Since 2012 we have been an authorised AQUATO distributor for Chile, one of several authorised distributors, and are also active in other South American countries. In 2015 our PUMP pilot plant in Chile went into operation, and it has been running since then without any interventions worth mentioning.
We bring biological wastewater treatment to South America, from advice through supply to support with installation and maintenance. You buy directly from us, without a chain of several intermediaries. When something needs to be clarified, there is a single contact, not three.
We are deeply rooted in both directions. Towards Germany, well-established channels with the manufacturer AQUATO handle warranty, spare parts, training and new model versions. In South America we are building a network of local partners and distributors. Both languages, both business cultures, both sides understood.

Our values
For us, soil and water are the yardstick, not a label. We check what remains beneath the plant and what leaves through the outlet by the same criteria as an authority. That goes into every model recommendation, before price enters the conversation.
We build the bridge between Germany and South America ourselves, with no intermediaries in between. Both business cultures are familiar to us, both native languages. That way, warranty, spare parts and training follow well-established channels, not improvised ones.
We recommend the right model for your location, not the most expensive one or the one available fastest. First we listen to your situation, then we look at the site, and only then do we talk about plants. A correct recommendation takes a few more days; the plant, on the other hand, lasts for decades.
We have worked with AQUATO under contract since 2012. In South America we are building a local network of partners and distributors step by step. For us, suppliers and service partners are long-term relationships, not interchangeable line items.
A pioneer in South America
In rural South America, the septic tank is still standard practice today: a simple soakaway pit, often with chemical additives against odours and foul-smelling gases. Small, complete biological treatment plants are the exception. We step into that gap, objectively and without grand claims.
Our contract with AQUATO opens a corridor for us into the countries of South America (with the manufacturer's approval for each country). This makes our position continental, not just national. As demand grows, we can expand together with AQUATO into neighbouring markets without renegotiating the contractual relationship. The target markets are all South American countries, including Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana, always with AQUATO's approval for each country. We are furthest along in Chile; Ecuador and Peru are in development.
For our customers, this position means in practice: a long learning curve, verified technology and well-established channels. You are not the first attempt of a newly created distribution, but the continuation of a relationship that has been maintained for more than ten years.
