Uppsala, Sweden: community plant

Starting point

A small town near Uppsala in Sweden needed decentralised wastewater treatment without connection to a central sewer network, sized for 500 population equivalents.

Solution

A complete new plant from the ORKA line in large-volume plastic tanks. AQUATO fully pre-assembled the treatment technology inside the tanks at the factory. An upstream screen holds back coarse solids and protects the technology behind it. The plant runs on two independent lines.

Result

Thanks to the two independent lines, treatment continues without interruption even during maintenance or a failure of one line. The case shows how the modular ORKA scales up to 500 PE with redundancy. It is a reference from Europe, specifically from Sweden.
