Ahr Valley, Germany: emergency plant

Starting point

In the Ahr Valley in Germany, part of the wastewater infrastructure was destroyed by the 2021 flood. The community needed a working replacement plant at short notice, built under difficult conditions.

Solution

AQUATO built a complete above-ground plant from the ORKA line for 250 population equivalents. The plant is fed by an upstream pumping station, and mechanical pretreatment is handled by a vertical screen in the pump shaft. The aeration technology is housed with sound insulation in an outdoor stone cabinet.

Result

The plant reliably treats the community's wastewater as replacement infrastructure. It shows that ORKA technology also works cleanly at the scale of a small town and under time pressure. It is a reference from Europe.
